Applications
The RT300 cutting grade is specifically designed for machining unalloyed structural steel and stainless steels. The indexable insert enables the radial grooving of retaining rings as well as the reliable, complete parting-off of the component. By choosing from four different grooving widths, ranging from variant GTN-2 to GTN-5, users can optimally adapt the cutting pressure and the width of the groove to the respective machining task.
Special features
This PVD-coated indexable insert is characterized by good protection against thermal wear and supports advantageous chip control when plunging into the material. In combination with a suitable GTN blade or grooving holder, a low-vibration seating of the cutting edge is achieved. This stability is essential to reduce chatter marks on the workpiece, generate high surface qualities on the flat surfaces, and achieve consistent tool life in daily production.
