PKD (polycrystalline diamond) turning inserts are made with a cutting edge from polycrystalline diamond. Polycrystalline diamond is synthesized in a high-pressure, high-temperature process, where small diamond crystals are bonded to form a strong, wear-resistant material.

PKD is one of the hardest materials overall, comparable to natural diamond. As a result, our PKD turning inserts are extremely wear-resistant and ideal for machining non-ferrous metals like fiberglass composites and aluminum.
