Professional surface machining with the ONHU...-GM milling insert

The ONHU...-GM milling insert was specifically developed for industrial use in face milling and high-feed machining tasks. Depending on the workpiece requirements, two capable grades are available: The PVD multilayer-coated solid carbide RT250X covers the universal machining of steel and stainless steel, while the CVD-coated RT150K grade is designed specifically for cast iron applications. The precise execution of the cutting edges supports consistent tool life and efficient chip evacuation.

Applications

This octagonal indexable insert is highly suitable for large-area face milling as well as strategic high-feed machining. Due to the multi-edge design and stable edges, the ONHU shape offers a highly economical solution for reliably executing complex face operations or roughing tasks.

With the RT250X variant, common structural steels, high-alloy steels, and stainless steels can be machined with process reliability. The RT150K grade, on the other hand, is the appropriate choice for machining gray and nodular cast iron, as its hard CVD coating effectively counteracts the abrasive wear typical of these materials.

Special features

This tooling solution convinces through a well-thought-out wear behavior and the high stability of the carbide substrates. The specialized coating technology – PVD for toughness on the RT250X and CVD for wear resistance on the RT150K – adapts the milling insert precisely to the respective thermal and mechanical loads. This lays a solid foundation for dependable results in daily machine operations.
