Efficient machining of stainless steel with the TNMG...-ME RT305
The triangular TNMG...-ME RT305 indexable insert (negative 60° shape) is specifically developed for the challenging conditions of medium stainless steel machining. The high-quality PVD-coated M20-M30 carbide grade offers excellent wear resistance and high stability during both continuous and light interrupted cuts. Equipped with the ME geometry, this turning insert promotes efficient chip evacuation, reduces cutting forces, and contributes to excellent surface finishes on the workpiece.

Applications
This cutting insert is highly suitable for profiling, facing, and longitudinal turning of stainless steel within the medium machining segment. With six usable cutting edges per insert, the tool provides a highly cost-effective solution for batch production and serial manufacturing. The ME geometry safely handles smooth contours as well as workpieces involving slight interruptions during the cut.
Special features
The advanced PVD coating of the RT305 grade reliably protects the carbide substrate from rapid wear and heat generation, which frequently occurs when machining tough stainless steel alloys. The result is a stable, predictable machining process that minimizes setup times and sustainably supports high productivity.
