Professional HSSCo8 countersink for precise deburring and chamfering
The HSSCo8 Countersinks 90° are specifically engineered for chatter-free, clean countersinking and deburring in metalworking applications. Featuring three flutes and a 90° point angle, these tools reliably prepare holes for countersunk screws and smoothly chamfer drill edges. The cutting material HSSCo8 (cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel) is characterized by a significantly higher heat resistance and wear resistance than standard HSS. This makes the tool highly capable not only for standard structural steels but also for the demanding machining of stainless steels, cast iron, and various non-ferrous metals. The cylindrical shank design establishes a secure grip in the tool holder, minimizing vibrations and improving the workpiece's surface finish.

Applications
This countersink is a practical choice for metal processing in industrial manufacturing, fixture construction, and professional workshops. With its 90° angle, it is traditionally used for standard-compliant recessing of screw heads and for the clean chamfering of bore edges. It provides flexible application possibilities on conventional drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and CNC-controlled systems, provided that speed and feed rates are matched to the workpiece material.
Special features
The straight cylindrical shank supports stable torque transmission and prevents unwanted chatter marks on the countersunk surface by ensuring good concentricity. The addition of 8 percent cobalt maintains the tool's toughness even at elevated machining temperatures. This material property creates an excellent foundation for longer service life between tool changes, particularly when cutting high-strength or abrasive materials.
