Reliable Positioning Accuracy for Demanding Drilling Operations
The HSSCo8 NC-Spotting Drill 90° in the long version provides an excellent foundation for accurate hole guidance in subsequent machining steps. Combining a 90° point angle with an extended cylindrical shank, this tool is highly suitable for precise spotting and simultaneous chamfering, especially in deep or hard-to-reach locations. The cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel (HSSCo8) construction supports efficient workflows across various materials.

Applications
Thanks to the extended design, this spotting drill is particularly valuable when interfering contours on workpieces or fixtures need to be bypassed. It is primarily used on CNC machines, machining centers, and milling machines, where it prevents twist drills from wandering off-center. The 90° angle is frequently chosen to directly prepare the hole for countersunk screws or a defined chamfer.
Special features
The 8 percent cobalt alloy (HSSCo8) gives the tool high heat resistance and wear resistance. This ensures consistent centering quality when machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys.
