HSS-PM tap for process-safe blind hole threads
This HSS-PM tap featuring a TiAlN coating is designed for the demanding production of metric internal threads (60° flank angle) in blind holes. Thanks to the powder-metallurgical manufacturing of the substrate, the cutting tool features a highly homogeneous structure. This creates excellent conditions for superior toughness and prolonged tool life. In combination with the heat-resistant TiAlN coating, the tool opens up flexible and economical application possibilities across a wide range of metallic materials without compromising on thread quality.

Applications
This threading tool is geared towards professional use in the machining industry and modern mechanical engineering. Suitable for structural steel, tempered steel, tool steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials (like aluminum and copper/brass), the tap supports efficient workflows across varying material requirements. It is specifically intended for blind holes where chips must be evacuated optimally to prevent damage to the newly cut thread.
Special features
The combination of HSS-PM and TiAlN coating convinces with high hot hardness and oxidation resistance, which significantly reduces tool wear even at elevated cutting speeds. Additionally, the precise cutting edge preparation supports clean and burr-free machining of the thread flanks, minimizing tool changes and contributing to reliable productivity in daily operations.
