Applications
This indexable insert is excellently suited for robust roughing processes of steel components in general mechanical engineering, plant construction, and contract manufacturing. Designed for continuous and slightly interrupted cuts, the SXR geometry reliably handles fluctuating allowances and moderate cutting interruptions, which promotes a stable machining process.
Special features
The advanced RT325G grade based on P25 carbide is selectively enhanced with a CVD coating. This layer system insulates the substrate against high thermal loads during roughing and effectively protects the edge from abrasive wear. Furthermore, the chipbreaker, which is specially developed for roughing applications, promotes controlled chip breaking, thereby reducing the risk of chip jamming and supporting smooth workflows. The negative insert seat ensures a secure hold in the tool holder, even under severe mechanical stress.
