Applications
The DCMT-PR design is intended for the roughing of structural steels, heat-treatable steels, and other common steel alloys. Thanks to the positive insert geometry, cutting forces are reduced, which is particularly beneficial when machining on less rigid setups or with more delicate workpieces. The recommended application range includes continuous turning operations as well as tasks involving light cutting interruptions.
Special features
The two-color CVD coating of the RT250+ grade not only facilitates quick wear detection at the cutting edge but also effectively protects the P20-P30 carbide substrate against heat and abrasive wear. Furthermore, the PR geometry promotes reliable chip breaking, thereby supporting smooth chip evacuation during roughing operations.
