Applications
This Whitworth threading insert is geared towards the requirements of general mechanical engineering, maintenance, and serial production. Designed for external turning with a right-hand cutting direction, it is suitable for machining standard BSW threads on conventional and CNC-controlled lathes. The universal coating allows for flexible switching between different material groups, such as general structural steels, stainless steels, NF-metals, and various special materials, without the need to change tools frequently.
Special features
Designed as a full profile insert, the cutting edge forms the entire thread profile including the crest, which promotes excellent profile accuracy. The RT315 PVD coating features good thermal stability and hardness, reducing wear even during demanding machining tasks. Furthermore, the three available variants with 11, 14, and 19 threads per inch (TPI) cover commonly used Whitworth pitches, supporting efficient workflows in metal-cutting operations.
