High-Performance Machining of Aluminum and Plastics
The negative indexable insert CNMG...-ALP RT100 provides a sophisticated solution for professional users who primarily machine aluminum, copper, brass, or plastics. The specific combination of uncoated K10-K15 carbide and the sharp ALP geometry opens up flexible application possibilities in finishing and medium turning tasks. It impresses with a very soft cutting action, which noticeably keeps cutting forces low. This creates excellent conditions for high-precision dimensional accuracy and flawless surface finishes.

Applications
This turning insert is strictly aligned with the professional machining of soft and adhesive workpiece materials. The CNMG...-ALP RT100 proves itself especially in external and internal turning operations on aluminum alloys, where reliable chip evacuation and supreme contour precision are required. It is equally well-suited for demanding turning tasks on thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, as well as on non-ferrous metals like copper and brass.
Special features
A decisive feature of the RT100 grade is its polished, extremely sharp edge, which actively counteracts material adhesion (built-up edges). This ensures reliable chip breaking and protects the workpiece surface from damage. The variants, available in two corner radii (0.4 mm and 0.8 mm), also allow an exact adaptation to the respective workpiece contour and the required surface quality.
