High-performance contour machining and fine finishing

The CCGT ...-ALM RT105C turning insert is designed for professional use in the machining of non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, and special materials. Thanks to its positive basic shape and the well-conceived cutting edge geometry for medium processing, it noticeably reduces cutting pressure. The combination of a tough carbide substrate (M10-M20) and a smooth PVD-TiAlN coating creates excellent conditions for efficient chip control and high dimensional accuracy in continuous cutting.

Applications

This toolholder insert performs excellently in the machining of complex workpiece contours and longitudinal turning operations. It is widely used on CNC machines and conventional lathes when aluminum alloys, austenitic stainless steels, or special materials need to be machined reliably. The geometry is ideally suited for tasks where clean surfaces and tight tolerances are required.

Special features

The specialized TiAlN layer protects the cutting edge from premature wear and heat generation, which is particularly beneficial when cutting stainless steel. Due to the positive rake angle and the sharp execution, built-up edges are effectively counteracted when machining aluminum. The insert is available in various corner radii, allowing it to adapt flexibly to different roughing and finishing requirements.
