Applications
These solid carbide drill tips are geared towards universal drilling operations in the metalworking industry. They perform excellently in unalloyed, low-alloyed, and high-alloyed steels, as well as tool steels. Furthermore, they open up flexible application possibilities in grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, and malleable cast iron. The system is ideal for machine and fixture construction and series production where stable machining processes and quick tool changeovers are essential.
Special features
A key advantage of these inserts is their exact coordination with the WST D13.5 holder (available in lengths 3xD, 5xD, 8xD), ensuring stable clamping and secure power transmission. Please pay close attention to the correct carrier/drill bit combination, as these tips only fit holders specifically designed for the 13.50 to 13.90 mm diameter range.
For process-safe operation, we recommend reducing the feed rate to 85% when using the 5xD drill body, and to 70% when using the 8xD body. This supports reliable chip evacuation and contributes to the longevity of the entire tooling system.
