High-Performance PCD Insert for Professional Machining
The VBGT ...-1N RTD10 is a highly precise indexable insert tailored for high-speed turning of aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals. Featuring a cutting edge made of polycrystalline diamond (PCD), it offers excellent wear resistance, particularly during demanding continuous operations. PCD is a synthetically produced, extremely hard mass of randomly oriented diamond particles bonded in a metal matrix. This sophisticated tool design provides flexible application options to achieve outstanding surface finishes and consistent dimensional accuracy, even at high cutting speeds.

Applications
This insert excels in professional high-speed turning of aluminum alloys with a silicon content of up to 12%. Furthermore, it is highly suitable for contour turning of other non-ferrous metals and soft plastics that generate long chips during the machining process.
Special features
A key feature of this turning tool is the positive rake angle of the VBGT geometry. It promotes controlled and reliable chip evacuation when machining soft materials, thereby supporting highly efficient workflows.
ATTENTION! Important application note: For aluminum with a low silicon content (up to 12% Si) and soft materials with long chip formation, this specific VBGT insert is the correct choice. Conversely, when machining abrasive materials such as high-silicon aluminum, brass, brass alloys, or fiberglass-reinforced plastics, you must strictly use the VBGW geometry instead to prevent premature cutting edge wear.
