The PCD insert CCGT ...-1N RTD10 is engineered for the high-speed turning of aluminum with up to 12% silicon content, non-ferrous metals, and plastics. Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is a synthetically produced, extremely hard, intergrown mass of randomly oriented diamond particles in a metal matrix, delivering exceptional wear resistance. ATTENTION! For aluminum with a low silicon content and soft materials with long chip formation, you must use this CCGT insert with a positive rake angle. ATTENTION! For abrasive materials such as aluminum with high silicon content, brass, brass alloys, brittle plastics, and glass-fiber reinforced materials, you need the CCGW insert.
