High-Performance PCD Insert for Professional Turning
The PCD insert DCGT ...-1N RTD10 is a highly specialized solution for the efficient high-speed turning of aluminum and non-ferrous (NF) materials. Equipped with a cutting edge made of polycrystalline diamond (PCD)—a synthetically produced, extremely hard, intergrown mass of randomly oriented diamond particles in a metal matrix—this tool offers outstanding wear resistance. Thanks to the positive DCGT geometry, the insert is excellently suited for machining soft, long-chipping materials as well as aluminum with a silicon content of up to 12 percent.

Applications
This high-precision insert is specifically designed for high-speed aluminum turning and supports efficient workflows in metal cutting. It is primarily used for machining aluminum (up to 12% Si), various non-ferrous metals, and plastics, where excellent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required. The positive rake angle of the DCGT version provides great conditions for turning soft materials with long chip formation.
Special features
A key feature of this PCD insert is its extremely hard cutting material, which promotes long tool life even at high cutting speeds. Important application warning: For aluminum with a low silicon content and soft materials with long chip formation, you require this exact DCGT insert with a positive rake angle. Attention: For abrasive materials such as aluminum with a high silicon content, brass, brass alloys, as well as brittle plastics and fiberglass-reinforced materials, you must use the DCGW insert instead.
